If a story changes everything, what can 30 stories do?
Since 2001, the United States has observed Sexual Assault Awareness Month every April. In that spirit, The Voices and Faces Project is highlighting just a few of the voices, faces, and stories at the heart of the movement to end gender-based violence through our new #30Stories30Days campaign.
Created to share the insights and wisdom of many of the survivors who have inspired us over the years, #30Stories30Days isn't just a campaign. It's a call to action. Learn about these remarkable survivor leaders by following The Voices and Faces Project on our social media platforms. And please, share these stories broadly. At this year's NCOSE Global Summit, Katie Feifer — our Voices and Faces Project research director and a founding co-chair at World Without Exploitation — will bring The Voices and Faces Project's "Marketing a Movement" program to a global community of leaders in the movement to end commercial sexual exploitation. Created to help movement allies think differently about communications, messaging, and storytelling, "Marketing a Movement" was developed in partnership with our colleagues at Brew Communications, and through support from NoVo Foundation. Thanks, Katie, for being one of the co-creators of a program that has trained hundreds of allies. See you in Washington, DC this month!

During "The Stories We Tell," The Voices and Faces Project's immersive two-day writing workshop for those who have lived through or witnessed gender-based violence or other human rights violations, workshop participants read and discuss world-changing testimonial writing, while taking part in a series of innovative real-time writing exercises. This is a workshop that is as purposeful as it is powerful: a literary and advocacy training for those seeking to use their creative voices to demand a more just and fair world. To date, over 540 extraordinary advocates and writers have taken part in "The Stories We Tell." If you're interested in being a part of our next cohort, watch this space: our 2018 Stories We Tell schedule will be published on April 15th. |

At this year's End Violence Against Women International Conference — an annual US Department of Justice-supported gathering of over 2,000 leaders in the movement to end gender-based violence — Voices and Faces Project founder Anne K. Ream, a past recipient of EVAW's Visionary Award, will be a featured speaker. During Anne's conference talk, she will be presenting on The Voices and Faces Project's award-winning anti-trafficking campaign,"The Ugly Truth," while speaking on the power and importance of communications in the movement to end violence against women. This year's EVAW conference will be in our hometown of Chicago, IL, April 3 - 5. We look forward to seeing Anne, and many of our longstanding allies, there.
