Dear Friend,

When we founded The Voices and Faces Project, in 2006, we did so with a simple but ambitious goal: to put names and faces on an issue that too often leaves its victims silent and invisible. We knew that to stop sexual violence we needed to start talking. We believed then, as we do now, that silence is the enemy of change.

In 2013 our voices – now over 400 strong – have come together to create more change than ever before. We traveled to South Africa to create a unique survivor story-sharing program with Tearfund, a United Nations NGO…brought "The Stories We Tell," our US-based writing workshop for victims of gender-based violence, to Canada…launched a multi-media public awareness campaign, "The Ugly Truth," that made over 400 million audience impressions in the fight to end sexual exploitation, while contributing to the passage of groundbreaking anti-trafficking law…and announced the 2014 publication of Lived Through This: Listening to Sexual Violence Survivors, a collection of narrative and photographic profiles of 18 courageous women and men who have shared their testimonies in order to change the public conversation about rape and abuse.

In 2014, we'll continue our work changing minds, hearts and public policies through the power of survivor stories. But we can't do it without you. Please consider donating today.

Named one of "America's Best Charities" for the 5th year running, The Voices and Faces Project has received national attention for its marriage of new media and survivor storytelling. But the way we truly measure our success is through the responses of the survivors who've joined us in our work. "Sharing my story with The Voices and Faces Project, and bringing my truth to the world, has been transformative for me," says Janet Goldblatt Holmes, a partner in our organization. "After decades of silence about the rape I endured, I finally feel free."

Every survivor's story matters. Every survivor's story has the potential to change minds, hearts, and public policies by illuminating the human costs of sexual violence. But we can't continue to bring our stories to the attention of the public without your support.

With gratitude,
Anne Signature
